Joining the School

Botton School is a non-sectarian, comprehensive school. A child is accepted by the teachers on educational grounds after an interview with the parents and the child. No child is normally refused on financial grounds, though parents have to make a firm financial commitment in support of the school according to their own means. The school thrives because of the dedication and commitment of everyone involved. It is a registered charity and, at present, receives no state funding. Constant efforts are made to raise funds for both capital and revenue costs.

Parental involvement is focussed through the class evenings, the Eskdale Community Trust Council and the Parents-Teachers-Friends Association. Smaller groups are formed to carry forward work in specific areas.
